Can You Still Buy a Home With No Money Down?

Many people who are currently renting may believe home ownership is out of their reach because they don’t have a down payment. There are currently two ways to purchase a home with no money down. The first is if you are in or served in the military and have VA eligibility you may qualify for a VA Loan. The other way is a program called USDA rural loan. This loan is based on your income and home has to be located in a designated rural area. There are currently areas in Hillsborough that qualify.

Now although these programs do not require a down payment you may have to have some money for closing costs. Your Realtor (we hope that will be us 🙂 ) will help negotiate to have all or most of your closing costs be paid by the seller. Depending on how the market it is this can be easy or difficult to negotiate.
